Thank you for taking part in the first week of our video study! We really appreciate your comments and draw so much inspiration from connecting with our worldwide community. This week we’ll move on to Part Two of our review of Easwaran’s video talk “The Other Shore”.

This week, Easwaran shares an anecdote from the Bhagavad Gita in which Arjuna is caught in the world of duality. Easwaran gives us a number of suggestions to help us understand how we can be equal in pleasure and pain, overcoming our own selfishness.

To watch this week’s video excerpt, we suggest you start the video where we left off last week at 5:08 minutes and end at 12:30 minutes. As you listen to Easwaran you might make notes about what stands out to you and then share your ideas in the comments section below. Feel free to summarize what you heard and/or share implications for your meditation practice. We look forward to hearing from you!

Easwaran begins with a precise examination of the way we usually see the world - divided into the things and people we like and the things and people we don't like. This duality (often unconscious) determines not only how we act, but how we see life.
